Hi, everyone!

On behalf of Jeff and myself, I wanted to let you know about something new. We've created an option where you can, if you choose, make a donation to this forum and contribute to the operation of OnTheLeft. This is (and will always be) completely voluntary. If you feel like donating, we would be very grateful. However if you don't feel like donating (or money is an issue right now) that's OK, too.

To access the donations area, go to "My Controls" at the top of the page (four options to the left of your PM box). Scroll about halfway down the screen and look under "Options" on your left. Under that, you'll see "Purchase Paid Subscriptions." Click on that and select whichever box you choose.

The operation of the forum currently costs about $40/month (right, Jeff?). On top of that, we've been paying for Google ads ($100-$250/mo) since the forum went online. As we gain more members and posts, we're eventually going to have to consider upgrading which is more pricey. Also, in the future, we hope to open an OnTheLeft online store, where you can purchase an OTL mug, bumper sticker, or t-shirt, too. And, as always, we're open to suggestions of other ways to enhance and upgrade our online community. Keep the ideas coming!

That said, we give you our word that any and all donations will be used SOLELY for the operation and enhancement of OnTheLeft. :) Any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to ask.

Sounds good. Will there be other payment methods besides Paypal, say by check?
We all want to live by each other's happiness, not by each other's misery. We don't want to hate and despise one another. In this world there is room for everyone and the earth is rich and can provide for everyone.

The way of life can be free and beautiful. But we have lost the way. Greed has poisoned men's souls - has barricaded the world with hate; has goose-stepped us into misery and bloodshed.

We have developed speed but we have shut ourselves in: machinery that gives abundance has left us in want. Our knowledge has made us cynical, our cleverness hard and unkind. We think too much and feel too little: More than machinery we need humanity; More than cleverness we need kindness and gentleness. Without these qualities, life will be violent and all will be lost.

I think the options are Paypal and credit card, but let me check for you (no pun intended....). I'll be back....

EDIT: Accepted are direct Paypal payments, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express and check/debit cards (as long as they're Visa or Mastercard debits).....fyi. :)

Thanks, TH. I thought there might be a PO box where I could remit a more "old school" form of payment.

I hope he's not counting on my contribution to get him there.

Anyway, just remember that I gave you your shot at anonymity, but you chose to reveal your identity ear regardless. Also bear in mind that you won't learn my identity in the process - I'm using the oldest school method of payment known to humankind.

PM me when you get a chance.

I'll arrange a wire from one of my Swiss accounts into that Cayman account. Instructions have been sent to my accounting staff.

Raven,

Yeah, they're not cheap. Thanks for bailing us out. It's so embarrassing when you bounce a check over a measly $1 million.

Jeff...I would love to contribute to your congenial and even handed efforts here at OTL.

Most of us are consumed with chat board attacks on our Wash administration, some of us are consumed with defending the same admin.

I am in a race. Fixing my house up for maximum resale and trying to get out and relocate while fighting the knowledge that I have it pretty good and the feeling that the monsters in control of Amerikka are likely to do anything to tighten their grip. This country is too scared to fight back.

I can't do it alone so logically I must flee. I hope that everyone else is perfectly content and happy and optimistic and that your Cayman account rebounds nicely.

I really shouldn't even post with so much work to do....alas at my age I simply can't work all of the time.

Just to clarify re: the subscriptions. Is it a one time donation, or will the amount chosen continue to be taken out every month?
Of course it's based a lot on racism. If you go to a [Teabaglicon] and say that, they hate it. If there's one thing they absolutely can not stand it is being called racist, if there's another thing they absolutely can not stand --- it's black people. ~ Bill Maher

Racial Inequality can not be corrected using color-blind or class based remedies. Improving the status of everyone will move everyone at the same pace. To remove racial disparities and establish equity, programs have to consciously be structured so that racial minorities are improved at a faster rate. ~Professor Vernellia R. Randall

They are all subscriptions (which can be canceled at any time) with one exception, which is a price one-time donation.

If you or anybody else wanted to make a one-time donation, I'm guessing you could just subscribe and then immediately cancel after the first payment goes through. As far as I know, there are no cancellation fees or anything like that.

Please keep in mind that this is completely voluntary and nobody will be looked down upon for not contributing.

Its a really good deal! Help this little island of sanity stay afloat in the floatsam of the Internet.

Otherwise, I will inflict waves of guilt upon you. Do you feel them reaching out through your monitor? A tingle, a spasm, maybe a twitch? Good. They'll stop as soon as you contribute...

I should point out that we've just added a new package that lets you contribute at a measly $1 a month. That's three cents a day, my friends. I can't imagine that that would break the bank. B)

I contributed to Michael's forum, so hey, why not OTL? IF, that is, you provide a mailing address as Mike did.
